How does the company search work?

The company search lets you discover Indian portfolio companies of various VC/PE funds. You can search for these companies by their sector or by name. In the search by sector option, you can further filter by keywords.

What is the source of the data for these companies?

Data is primarily sourced from company websites, press releases & social media activity of these companies, industry news, etc.The India Portfolio strives for accuracy and completeness in data and wherever possible multiple validations have been done, however we cannot vouch for accuracy and completeness of the data, as no sources are primary.

Why are some companies shaded in grey?

Companies that been acquired or are inactive are marked in grey - you can see this in their Status field. Acquired companies, even if they are active, are unlikely to be available for further deal making & hence in grey. Remember, the purpose of The India Portfolio is to bring forth this new age of deal identification & deal making and not just be a directory. Companies have been classified as inactive if they have shutdown (based on their announcements or news) or if online presence indicates so (non functional websites/apps, workforce churn, abrupt and continuing break in online activity, etc.)
