Company Details Help
What information is shown on a company details page?
The company details page provides a comprehensive view of a company, organized into three tabs:
- Overview: Company description, products/services, vision/mission, customers, industries, geographies, key attributes (website, sector classification), and status information (active, acquired, listed).
- Investors: A sortable list of VC/PE funds that have invested in the company, including fund type, ticket category, and investment date. Click any fund name to view its profile.
- Peers: Two tiers of competitor companies - Immediate Peers (closest competitors) and Potential Peers (related companies). Click any peer to view its profile.
What is the source of the data for these companies?
Data is primarily sourced from company websites, press releases, social media activity, industry news, and regulatory filings. The India Portfolio strives for accuracy and completeness, with multiple validations performed where possible. However, we cannot vouch for 100% accuracy or completeness as no sources are primary.
How do I download company data?
Click the Download button in the top-right corner to choose from three formats:
- .MD (Markdown): A clean, readable text format with all company data.
- .JSON: Structured machine-readable format for developers.
- .PDF: Print-ready document (opens in a new window for printing).
Downloads include all company information, investor lists, and peer data.
What do the status fields mean?
The status fields indicate the company's current state:
- Active Status: Whether the company is currently operational.
- Acquired Status: Whether the company has been acquired by another entity.
- Listed Status: Whether the company is publicly listed on a stock exchange.
This helps users quickly assess the company's current state and potential for deal-making.
How are investors listed and can I sort them?
The Investors tab shows all funds that have invested in the company, displayed with:
- Fund name (clickable to view the fund's profile)
- Fund type (e.g., Venture Capital, Private Equity)
- Ticket category and investment date
You can sort the list by Investor (alphabetical) or Investment Date (most recent first) by clicking the column headers.
What is the difference between Immediate Peers and Potential Peers?
- Immediate Peers: Companies that are direct competitors, operating in the same industry and geography with similar business models.
- Potential Peers: Companies in related or adjacent spaces that could become competitors or partners, offering valuable market context.
Click any peer name to view its full company profile.
